With the rise of streaming players, it’s much easier to watch your favorite shows pretty much anywhere you want, be it on your TV, your phone, your computer, or whatever else. That’s probably why you’d expect to experience the thrills of The Finals on any platform you like. That leads us to the primary question of the day: is The Finals closed beta coming to consoles?
Is The Finals Closed Beta Coming to Consoles?
Unfortunately, the answer to that question is no. The closed beta for The Finals began on March 7 on PC via Steam, but at least as far as the developers have divulged, that’s where it will remain for the time being.

Embark Studios is a very young developer, despite the pedigree of its staff, so they may not have the resources available to run a full-scale multiplatform, cross-platform closed beta. This is presumably why we’re only getting the closed beta for The Finals on PC, since that’s also the easiest setting for them to troubleshoot and interact with players.
Will The Finals Ever Come to Consoles?
That said, things won’t be this way forever. While it isn’t currently known whether the developers will run another beta period, they have confirmed that once the game is out of beta state and ready for full release, it will be releasing on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, in addition to the obvious PC launch via Steam. No word yet on whether that will have cross-play support yet, though.
So, in short, if you want to try out the closed beta for The Finals, you’ll need to sign up for it via the Steam page. If you don’t have a gaming PC or just don’t want to play it on PC, then you’re unfortunately out of luck until the game is ready for full release.
