Does Skate (4) Have Microtransactions?

Unlike previous games in the series, skate. will be free-to-play. The developers have said there won’t be a Skate 4 or 5 as this game will be the only skate game for years to come. Full Circle plans to support the game with changes based on player feedback, new content, and microtransactions. Many expected the game to have them since it is a game published by EA but Full Circle was pretty open about their inclusion.

They mentioned how uneasy fans would be about their inclusion and whether or not they would severely affect skate. Some of these worries were addressed as it was confirmed that there will be no pay-to-win microtransactions. Microtransactions will focus on cosmetics and player convenience. There wasn’t much of an explanation on what convenience refers to but it will likely be microtransactions that let players skip the process of grinding in the game. If that’s the case, then this would conflict with the claim that players won’t be able to buy advantages.

This is all that is currently known regarding the game’s monetization. A release date has not been given but many fans will surely be disappointed with the fact that skate. will turn into yet another free-to-play live service game. In a world where Halo Infinite has a less than stellar reputation, it remains to be seen what the future will hold for skate.
