Phantom Brigade brings mechs to the masses. But unlike your typical shooter, it features a turn-based mechanic while still incorporating real-time combat. The combination alone is enough to entice long-time robo-fans to give the game a shot. Coupled with robust customization options to truly make your mech your own, it could be an instant hit with fans.
While people would love to play on their platform of choice, it’s currently only available for Steam and Epic Games Store. While the option to come to a traditional console isn’t out of the question, people will need to stick with their PC. But at least you can take it on the go with Steam Deck, right?
Is Phantom Brigade Steam Deck Compatible?
Valve’s answer to mobile gaming, more-so the Nintendo Switch, doesn’t feature native support for all Steam titles. Some have been verified or optimized for the system, giving players an essentially 1:1 experience to their PC. Others can be played at the user’s own risk as it may have bugs or issues that isn’t present on PC or Steam proper. Phantom Brigade falls into the latter category.
While Phantom Brigade can technically be played on Steam Deck, it is not Steam Deck compatible. The result has been a lower frame rate and issues with control mapping. If you can live with this, then fire up the Steam Deck and get to blasting enemy mechs. If this or other problems that could pop up don’t sound appealing, it’d be best to wait for a patch to address the compatibility.
Is Phantom Brigade Headed To Other Consoles
People always want games their interested in available on their console of choice. And while PlayStation and Xbox should have no problem with running the game, there are no plans to bring it to anything other than PC. Brace Yourself Games has said they may reconsider it in the future, so i tlikely depends on the games success and internal research.
