Catching Pokemon has to be one of the frustrating and relaxing aspects of a Pokemon game. How annoying is it when you’ve defeated all the gyms, and now have the ability to catch Pokemon at any level, only to come across a low level Pokemon, and it doesn’t go into your Pokeball? It’s rewarding when you can just throw a ball and they successfully stay put after a few seconds. What’s frustrating is when they don’t stay and you have to go through numerous balls and use the save before the battle method in case you accidentally kill it. After playing plenty of Pokemon games we’re able to confidently tell you if Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is hard to catch wild Pokemon. So, is it? Is it harder to catch wild Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Let’s find out together.
Wild Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
In every Pokemon game you have the opportunity to explore, find items, and come across various Pokemon. Depending on the area you’re visiting in the region the Pokemon can either be a low level or are tough. We’ve had the unfortunate experience of coming across high level Pokemon when we had no business being near them in the first place. Now that we have reached the 60s and are able to capture anything we want we wanted to know if it’s harder to catch Pokemon in the wild than previous games. Short answer, it depends. We have come across Pokemon that were around level 40 and we had to use so many Pokeballs. There has also been times when we found level 55 Pokemon in the wild and only used one ball on them. We’re not really sure what determines a Pokemon from easily escaping a ball. Could it be their weight? If it’s a smaller Pokemon are they easier to capture? That was debunked when a little fish escaped our grasps. Although we don’t know the answer to this question we can give you tips on how to make catching Pokemon easier.
Tips to capture Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet
Have you taken the classes that the school has to offer in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? They’re actually pretty useful if you want basic information on battle strategies. What we learned from these classes is causing inflictions such as poisoning the Pokemon you want to capture has no effect on catch rate. The best way to capture a high level Pokemon is by using the “yawn” attack to make them fall asleep. Next, you’re going to want to get them to a low hit point. Try to get them in the red, use yawn, and throw a Pokeball. We tested this out a few times and it has been very helpful instead of trying to paralyze or poison them.
