Masterball in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

For trainers who have explored and done all of the main quest lines, Director Clavell will give you access to the legendary masterball. This masterball is a one time use and will guarantee the capture of a Pokemon no matter how rare they are or how strong. We mean it when we say the masterball is a one time use item. Once you use it you can’t get another one. That’s why it’s important to determine which Pokemon to use it on. Thankfully, you don’t have to catch the two legendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon to get them to be part of your team, however, there are other legendary Pokemon you will find that will help give you an idea on when to use the masterball.

Legendary Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a total of 7 legendary Pokemon you can come across while exploring. Two of those Pokemon will be Koraidon and Miraidon, depending on your version of the game. If you want both versions of the Pokemon you need to trade with other players to get the version exclusive Pokemon. The other remaining legendary Pokemon are Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu. These Pokemon can be unlocked once you find them locked in the shrine in the different provinces. In order to unlock those shrines you’re going to want to find the stakes around the region to release them. After you have unlocked all the shrines you can make a determination on which Pokemon to capture using your masterball.

Conclusion

In all honesty, masterball is really up to the player. If you want to use your masterball on one of the legendaries, by all means, do it! If you want to use your masterball on a Pokemon that has a specific tera type, use it! It’s really up to the player on when they should use the masterball and only you can make that decision. If you do end up using your masterball on a legendary Pokemon you should aim for Chien-Pao because it’s a fluffy dark ice cat. It’s honestly the best looking legendary out of the other ones. Or, you could waste it on Chi-Yu, that little fish. How a fish is a dark fire type is a question we will never be able to answer.
