Fall Guys (nee Ultimate Knockout) initially launched in mid-2020 for the PS4 and PC. It was a game that — for a time — seemed like it would decimate the multiplayer party game scene. In time, though, the conversation seemed to move on from the bouncy exploits of CG bean people to the murderous betrayal of cartoon bean people. 2020 was a trip, y’all.
While the game was set to receive a version for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in the Summer of 2021, it was ultimately delayed. And now, with the news that Fall Guys is moving to a free-to-play model in June 2022, players are right to question if the game will be made available on other platforms and if it’ll be made cross-platform.
Is Fall Guys Cross-Platform?
On May 16, 2022, in addition to dropping the Ultimate Knockout subtitle, the game was announced to be coming to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via the Epic Games Store on June 21. It will also feature crossplay and cross-progression, meaning anyone who owns a copy of Fall Guys on any platform will be able to compete with each other, and players can carry their progress over from PS4 to PS5, or Xbox One to Switch to PC if they so choose.
So — if you’re about ready to jump back into Door Dash, Block Party, or Tail Tag, the big switcheroo will begin on June 21, 2022. It should also be noted that the game will be removed from Steam. If you own the game on Steam, you won’t notice any significant changes; rather, no new purchases of the game will be made via Steam.
