How to Use Potions in Freedom Planet 2 and Potion List

Let's shake things up.

The original Freedom Planet didn’t have much in the way of character equipment. If you didn’t find it in a stage, it didn’t exist. In Freedom Planet 2, though, you can have entire sets of items to help you along your way, including personally-mixed potions. Here’s how to use potions in Freedom Planet 2, and a list of the potions you can get.

At several points throughout Freedom Planet 2’s story, you can purchase various potions from shops in the hub areas, usually from lab stands operated by Milla. Potions cost gold gems, which you can get by trading in crystal shards or cores with certain NPCs, or by finding them in stages. These potions can be equipped to the dedicated potion slot of your equipment loadout, accessible from the items menu available right before you enter any stage.

As opposed to Amulets and Brave Stones, potions aren’t one-and-done equips. Rather, your potion bottle can hold up to five doses of a potion at once, and you can mix and match those doses freely. They aren’t consumed after a stage, either; you can keep using your potion mix of choice as long as you want.

To give you an example of how it works, let’s say you put five doses of Strong Revivals in your bottle. A single dose of Strong Revivals gives you an extra half Life Petal back when you revive in a stage, so a full five doses give you two-and-a-half Life Petals. Or, if you mix two doses of Strong Revivals with three doses of Healing Strike, you’d only get one-and-a-half Life Petals back from a revive, but you also drain 30% health from struck enemies.

Here’s the full list of potions and their effects:

  • Accelerator: Increases your max speed when running on flat ground by 5% per dose.
  • Attack Up: Increases physical attack damage by 4% per dose.
  • Cheaper Stocks: Reduces the number of crystals you need to get an extra life in a stage by 15 crystals per dose.
  • Extra Stocks: Start the stage with your progress toward an extra life partially filled. One dose fills it by 25%, with at least four doses starting you with an extra life.
  • Healing Strike: Restores some of your life whenever you strike an enemy, 10% of your max life absorbed per dose.
  • Strong Revivals: Increase the number of Life Petals you get when reviving from a KO, half a Petal per dose.
  • Strong Shields: Increases the number of hits a shield can absorb before breaking, 1 extra hit per dose.
  • Super Feather: Increases the height of your jumps by 4% per dose.

There’s no downside to using potions in Freedom Planet 2, so grab ’em all and mix up an energizing cocktail for yourself! Milla swears by their quality! Mostly!
