How to Upgrade Great Fairy Power in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

We're getting the band back together!

When it comes to some of the most intriguing characters in any Zelda game, the Great Fairies are always at the top of the list. From the very first game to Tears of the Kingdom, these deities have been as synonymous with the games as it’s short king hero Link. In the newest game, they take the appearances they had in Breath of the Wild. And while they function the same, earning the fairies praise and power is a bit different in Tears of the Kingdom. The kingdom of Hyrule has been ravaged once again by Ganon, and it’s up to you to help the residents of it, no matter who they are. So let’s play a tune and figure out how to upgrade Great Fairy power in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TotK).

As mentioned above, the Great Fairies have gone into hiding since the events of the Upheaval, and aren’t showing any signs of coming out. This is where the lovely Stable Trotters come into play. A band that was featured in BotW, these people used to travel across all of Hyrule playing their instruments to one an all. The Great Fairies being fan favorites of the band. Sadly, after the Upheaval, many of the bands members scattered to the wind, and as such, so did the fairies. All is not lost however, as it is up to Link to bring the band back together, and subsequently the Great Fairies as well.

In order to upgrade Great Fairy power in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TotK), you’ll need to complete 4 side adventures pertaining to the Stable Trotters. The first of these quests is located at the Woodland Stable (1045, 1140, 0022) and is called “Serenade to a Great Fairy.” Completing this quest will unlock the first Fairy Tera, who let’s you know that her sisters around Hyrule require the Stable Trotter’s joyous music in order to come out of their flower. For every Great Fairy you help coax out of their flower, the more you’ll be able to upgrade your gear. Here are the locations and quest names required to upgrade Great Fairy Power:

  • “Serenade To Kaysa” – Outskirt Stable (-1411, -1265, 0032)
  • “Serenade to Cotera” – Dueling Peaks Stable (1750, -1958, 0010)
  • “Serenade to Mija” – Snowfield Stable (-1629, 2586, 0234)
