How to Update Assassin’s Creed Origins to 60 FPS

Ubisoft's hit game receives a facelift later this week

A popular trend with this current console generation is updating the graphics and performance of older games. This feature combined with both the backwards compatibility of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S means some games feel brand new.

The most recent game to receive this treatment is Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Origins. It was announced that the game’s long-awaited FPS update would be coming later this week. If you’re wondering how to install this update when it goes live, we’ve got you covered.

How to Download the Assassin’s Creed Origins 60 FPS Update

Like most console updates, all you’ll have to do is wait for it to download and install. To manually install the update, you’ll have to select the game on your console of choice, then select the check for update option. If the update for Assassin’s Creed Origins is live, it will then start to download. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S allow you to automatically keep your games updated.

To do this on PS5, go to settings, then saved date and game/app settings. Next, go to automatic updates and turn on auto-download. If you’d like updates to install while the console is in rest mode, select auto-install in rest mode. To do the same on the Xbox Series X|S, hit the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide. Next, select profile & system. After that, select settings, then system, and then updates. Select the “Keep my console up to date” option and your console will automatically download any game updates.

Ubisoft hasn’t given exact details on how 60 FPS will be implemented into Assassin’s Creed Origins. In some cases, an update like this will give the game a frame rate of 60 FPS or it will give players the option to switch between frame rates. Most fans will just be happy to play the game at a higher frame rate on newer consoles.
