To say that most of the main characters of Resident Evil Village have developed their own fandoms would be putting it lightly. Two of the main villains, Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu, have had outpourings of love and support since the game launched. Well, good news: if you get the game’s DLC, you can get even closer to them. Here’s how to unlock Chris, Lady Dimitrescu, and Heisenberg in Mercenaries in Resident Evil Village.
How to Unlock Chris, Lady Dimitrescu, and Heisenberg in Mercenaries in Resident Evil Village
If you purchase and install the Winters Expansion DLC for Resident Evil Village, one of the new pieces of content you’ll receive is The Mercenaries: Additional Orders. Besides a few tweaks and additions, this content adds new stages and, more interestingly, new playable characters to the Mercenaries bonus mode. Those characters are:
- Chris Redfield
- Lady Alcina Dimitrescu
- Karl Heisenberg

The good news is that Chris is unlocked right off the bat. As soon as you install the DLC, you’ll be able to choose freely between Ethan or Chris when playing the Mercenaries on any stage. The bad news is that Lady Dimitrescu and Heisenberg take a little extra legwork.
Put in the Work, Get a Tall Lady
First, let’s cover Heisenberg, since you’ll probably get him first. In order to unlock Heisenberg, you need to get an A rank or better in all of the game’s normal stages. That includes The Village, The Castle, The Factory, The Mad Village, and the two new stages, The Bloody Village and The Bloody River. If you’ve played Mercenaries previously and unlocked all four base stages already, you’ll already have access to The Bloody Village, but if not, you will need to get at least an A on each preceding stage to unlock the next. You can do this with either Ethan or Chris, by the way. Also, you only need to get As on the regular levels. The harder versions, like The Village II, Castle II, and so on are not required.
Second, to unlock Lady Dimitrescu, you need to get an S rank on the second new stage, The Bloody River. Again, you can use any character you like for this, though it might be easier to do it as Chris. Remember, the key to high rankings is in high combos and lots of time bonuses.
Once you’ve unlocked these characters, you can use them freely on any stage. Besides the general fun factor of getting to play as them, they can help you unlock some of the other Mercenaries rewards!
