Conquering the five boroughs of New Amsterdam can put a lot of wear and tear on your skates. Maybe you want to change up the style, or perhaps a whole different piece of equipment is in mind. Whatever the case may be, developers over at Team Reptile have placed an option in the game to do just that. And as you unlock more characters, you might want to see how they fare with skates instead of other equipment. Much like other features in the game, players will need to progress a bit before they are able to to swap up their wheels. We’re going to lace up and figure out how to switch to skates in Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.

In order to switch to skates in Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, players will need to get through certain sections of the story. More precisely, you’ll need to progress to chapter 3 in order to be able to fully unlock skates. After doing so, simply head back to the hideout, and enter the skates garage door. You’ll now be able to swap to skates, no matter what character you’re playing as. A nifty feature, since it seems that some equipment can get you to certain areas others can’t.

If you weren’t already aware, skates aren’t the only piece of equipment players can use in Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. The game currently offers 3 separate pieces of equipment: skateboards, skates, and BMX. Each of these items will be unlocked for players to swap around in chapter 2, 3, and 4 respectively. However it does seem that players have been experiencing issues regarding certain equipment. In particular, one of the developers reached out in a Steam discussion about how there might be some bugs prevent players from unlocking the BMX. Hopefully no problems arise for those wanting to ride out in some nifty skates.
