You get a Light Cone, you get a Light Cone, everyone gets a Light Cone

Honkai: Star Rail introduces players to a new system of Levelling Up in which you will have multiple ways to upgrade your Skills for your characters in-game. These are using the Light Cones and Relic System where you will do a lot of combining, rearranging and a lot of praying to the Gacha Gods to obtain better equipment to use in battles. These are the main ways to increase your character’s Stats and therefore, are something that everyone new to the game, including myself, needs to understand and get used to in order to upgrade your Passive Skills and Base Stats. This is our guide on how to Superimpose in Honkai: Star Rail.

What is Superimposition in Honkai: Star Rail?

Superimposition is part of the Light Cone Items that act as the character’s main equipment. Light Cones are the character’s primary weapons and equipment that they will use in battle. These are shown as a deck of cards, equipped onto characters depending on their Path Type. Paths are followed by specific characters so when you want to equip specific Light Cones, you can only do this if they are part of the Path Type. When equipping Light Cones and you are unsure of whether or not your character is on the Path that uses the weapon, check on the right-hand side of your screen, underneath Light Cone Ability. This will tell you whether or not you can equip it for your character.

As this is part of your equipment in Honkai: Star Rail, players will want to upgrade the Light Cone as much as possible to increase its effects. This is done by Enhancing. You can get more Light Cones by using the Gacha System or exchanging via the Starlight Exchange in the Store.

How to Superimpose

If you want to upgrade your equipped Light Cones, you will need to obtain multiple Light Cones within the same Path and title to combine them onto your equipped Light Cone which will then combine its effects. As you begin your journey you will likely obtain multiple Light Cones under the same Path that are Level 1. These can then be combined and added onto an equipped Light Cone for a Passive Skill boost. Superimposing increases the Light Cones Passive Skill, rather than simply combining other Cards to upgrade and perform a general Level Up across the Stats. The difference between the two options then of Levelling Up or Superimposing is to either increase your Base Stats or to increase the Passive Skill Percentage.

Keep in mind however that you can only Superimpose with duplications of a Light Cone. Meaning that if you have The Destructive Path – Collapsing Sky and you want to Superimpose, you will need to use 1-4 Collapsing Sky Cards (duplicates) in order to Superimpose and upgrade its Passive Skill Stat.

To Superimpose, head into your Character Menu and select Light Cones. From here, scroll to the bottom option which will open the Superimpose Menu. You can select up to 4 Cards to combine with the already equipped Light Cone. This will add the new Card effects onto what you already have equipped and turn your Level 1 Light Cone into Level 2 and so on. In the Superimpose Menu, you can add up to 4 of the same Cards you have collected or hit Auto-Add for the game to account for the Path System in Honkai: Star Rail. When selected, hit Superimpose where the new Passive Skill will have increased from the fusion of Light Cones.
