How to Farm Poké Balls in Scarlet and Violet

The first method of obtaining these Poké Balls is through beating the Academy Ace Tournament. With the chances of obtaining these as a reward as 0.1% chance. Although, this is your only real method of obtaining the Love Ball and Beast Ball in Scarlet and Violet. As this is incredibly low, there is another means of obtaining Special Poké Balls with a more efficient process. This is by using Auctions.

Auctions can be found in Porto Marinada, between West Province (Area Two) and the Asado Desert. In order to access the Auction House you have to first defeat the Kofu Gym Leader located in the Town to obtain the Water Badge. In the middle aisle of the Auction House you will see three vendors that you will want to regular visit. These host Auctions for the relevant Poké Balls we are looking for. The vendors are: a woman with sunglasses on and a blue tie dye top, a man with a black wife-pleaser vest and another man with a pink button up shirt and a grey cap. They are who you need to approach.

The items at the Auction House change after 1 day cycle. Meaning that the best way to see what item they are selling on Auction is by Day Skipping. You only need to do this once to check what they are selling. Remember to turn off autosave and manually save just after checking the Auction House for the first time.

When a Auction has a Special Poké Ball

When the Special Poké Ball appears at the Auction House via the three vendors, make sure that you save your game before you attempt to purchase the item. At the Auction you will have to outbid the NPCs at the vendor. If you do not outbid the NPCs, simply close the game and restart, this Auction will be there once more for you to try again.

As these items are limited and how much you spend in an Auction can differ tremendously. Before using these items on wild Pokémon, you short first manually save the game. Remember to keep autosave off at the moment. Because if you fail to catch the Pokémon, we recommend closing and restarting the game. This will keep your Special Poké Ball in your Bag.

The downside to this method is just how much these Poké Balls cost per Auction. You need to have a minimum of 500,000 Pokémon Dollars heading into the Auction House just to purchase one Special Poké Ball. Whilst this makes this process more difficult and longer to execute, there are various methods available to increase your Scarlet and Violet income tremendously.

Tips for Scarlet and Violet Auctions

  • Make sure that everyone in your active party is fully healed so that the Auctions do not show specific items catering towards the health and condition of your squad.
  • Day Skip – This is a method used to find a specific Ball that you are looking for. All you need to do is turn off autosave then manually save the game before you check the Auction house. Next, close the game and open your Nintendo Switch Home Screen. Go to ‘Settings’, ‘Date and Time‘, turn off ‘Synchronize Clock with Internet’ and manually change ‘Date’ by skipping 1 day forward. Return to the game. If you do not get what you are looking for, simply turn the game off and back on again and repeat until satisfied. You only need to Day Skip once.
