How to Solve Hogwarts Legacy Bell Puzzle

Some Hogwarts Legacy missions will require brain not brawn.

As one might expect, the open-world magic adventure Hogwarts Legacy has more than a couple of aces up its sleeve in the shape of puzzle missions. Puzzles were a crucial part of the original story of Harry Potter so we shouldn’t be surprised by finding them in the game as well.

The bell puzzle, or as it’s officially called the “Solved by the Bell” quest is giving trouble to many players. That’s why we’ve decided to dig in and find a solution that will help everybody out.

Solved by the Bell Puzzle Explained

The “Solved by the Bell” quest is first triggered when you find a piece of paper with notes, bells, and an island drawn on them. To begin solving this puzzle your will need to first go to the Clagmar Castle on the Clagmar Coast and defeat all enemies you see there. Then you need to proceed to the Bell Tower and inside you will find an array of bells hanging with some of them missing. Look around and gather the big bells with owls on them that are laying around hidden.

Proceed to pick those bells up with the Levioso spell followed by Accio to make the bell follow you. Drag the bells one by one with you while climbing the Bell Tower and place them in the empty sockets, next to the other bells. This will be tricky since you can’t push the bell away from you, you can only make it follow you. Move around the stairs and angle it just right until you put the missing bells back in their place.

Once all bells are there, you need to go back to the paper note you found to start this event. The paper note displays 9 music notes that correspond to 9 bells that you need to hit in a sequence shown at the bottom of the same piece of paper. So, with your default attack you need to start hitting the bells. If we number the note’s bottom-most bell 1 and top-most bell 9 we come up with the following solution to the puzzle:

  • Bell 8
  • Bell 5
  • Bell 3
  • Bell 4
  • Bell 5
  • Bell 1
  • Bell 2
  • Bell 4

If everything is done correctly, you will hear the Harry Potter theme and you will know that the puzzle has been successfully solved.
