Warhammer 40K: Darktide hosts the incredible experience of rampage and ruin as you decimate your way through the Hive World of Tertium. Team up with three others to take down targets, perform sabotage, gain intel, but most importantly, to cull the heretical filth of Nurgle. Whenever you start up the game, you are met with a great intro sequence. It used to be the case that simply hitting the space bar got rid of it, but now there is another way. Here is how to skip the intro in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
How to skip the intro in Darktide
The intro scene of Warhammer 40K: Darktide is initially viewed with excitement as you ready yourself to get transported into the long awaited game. The narrative and animation meets you well as it unfolds before you. When it is finished, you get to create your first character and jump into the game.
Upon future revisits of the game, the intro sequence gets played every time. In the beta, and not long after the game got released, players could skip that intro sequence by merely pressing the spacebar, allowing them to get into the action and not have to sit through the entire sequence again. It was good, but not that good.
However, players may find disdain and frustration when pressing the spacebar doesn’t work. But don’t worry, you don’t have to sit through the intro sequence every time, even though all hope may seem lost.
In order to skip the intro sequence, you must now, after a patch, hold the spacebar until it skips. Yup, that’s what you must do now if you don’t want to sit through the intro every darned time.

One question… why?
It seems strange for the developers to go out of their way to make this process inconvenient, when there were zero complaints against it. One possible reason could be to avoid accidental skips of the intro sequence for first time players who may be unaware that it will play every time. So, having to hold it requires purposeful skipping.
Although maybe correct, it still is an inconvenience to most players.
