How to Resolve Roblox Error Code 279

To fix Roblox Error Code 279, attempt the following:

Restart Your Router

As a connectivity-related error, often the best route is on your end. To start, walk over to your home’s router and unplug the modem and router, either at the wall socket or the power cord on the back of each unit.

You should then wait approximately 30 seconds, plug everything back in, and patiently wait for your internet connection to come back.

Once you’re done, try to reconnect to Roblox.

Disable Your Firewall

If the problem lies within your computer’s firewall or antivirus, you can temporarily turn off either to see if that helps. Top firewall software often includes a “gaming” mode that allows you to halt protection while attempting to connect to online servers.

If your software does not feature such a mode, consider turning it off and trying to reconnect to Roblox. It’s often as simple as right-clicking your antivirus or firewall and turning it off.

Use a Different Browser

As you can play Roblox on any modern browser, including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera GX, we recommend switching it up if you’re having trouble connecting.

Let’s say you frequently use Chrome to play Roblox, but the error code prevents you from playing right now. Instead, try to install Opera GX and then run the game. Sometimes, that’s all it takes!
