However, you will need to have jumped through a couple hoops and completed a few objectives first before you can get right into the action and recruit some of your friends as reinforcements in the game. Simply interact with a Battle Flag to play Co-Op with your friends in the game, although you first will need to have multiplayer mode unlocked.
