Deciphering the code

You’ve probably discovered it already, go to the waiting room with the ‘5-lock’ puzzle. On a chair is a note, which is titled ‘SWORD’. It looks a little strange, with a set of nine numbers and nine letters in separate grids.

Our codes may be different, so follow this as a guide to decipher your own set of code.

The title of the document and the insignia on the safe all relate to a sword. Funnily enough, on a document you would have found in the interrogation room, there is a list of frequencies. One is called ‘Sword’.

Activate your radio and set your frequency to the Sword frequency. A sequence of five numbers will appear in the transcription section. Those numbers, in that order, correlate to the numbers and letters on the SWORD document.

Many of the numbers are blanked out, but they are all set up in the basic numerical sequence, so it is easy to fill in the dots. Imagine both grids as a keypad that you would find on a safe, because that’s exactly what they represent. Cross reference the numbers to the letters to find your code. At least one of your numbers will be ‘8’, which will cross reference with the blanked out letter, but that letter will be ‘F’, as the ‘F’ is in that position on the Sword Safe.

For example, the letter code for the number sequence above would be: FNHFZ (derived from 82487).

With that code, go back to the safe and input your sequence and hit the enter button. It will click open, and its contents will be yours.
