If you travel into the Starlight Strand, it’s difficult not to notice how many there are, and you may feel a little frustrated at their presence. Well, fear not, as it is really easy to open them, albeit it is a little tedious. If you are familiar with the base game, then this mechanic will be very familiar to you.
Firstly, the gates will always be accompanied by a slime plort statue. These statues won’t usually stray too far from their corresponding gate, some being right next to them. The statues will represent a slime with a slot where the mouth usually is.
These slots happen to be the perfect shape and size of a plort. You must find the plort of the slime that the statue represents. Don’t worry if you don’t have one on you, you’ll never be far from plorts in Slime Rancher 2!
Simply shoot that plort into the statue’s plort slot, and watch as the door jars open.

It may be worth dedicating a trip to the Starlight Strand with the only intention being to unlock plort gates. The most common plort gate requirements are hunter plorts, rock plorts, and honey plorts, so stock up on them before exploring the land and unlocking gates.
