Curiosity killed the cat, and since I know myself, I couldn’t stand finding a treasure chest in the wild without having the key or the means to open it. Now, this will happen in Baldur’s Gate 3, but if you happen to read the title of this article, then you know this is not the end. Some are waiting for pigs to fly, but now treasure chests will. Here is how to open chests without lockpicking in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How To Open Chests Without Lockpicking in Baldur’s Gate 3
If you find a locked chest during your adventures across the Forgotten Realms and you notice that you don’t have any character that can lockpick it, don’t panic at all. In fact, there is a mechanic that it’s quite easy albeit a bit medieval. Follow these steps to open chests without lockpicking in Baldurs Gate 3:
- Find your locked treasure in the wild and carry it with you.
- Look for a decently sized cliff and head to the top.
- Drop the locked treasure off the cliff.
- Collect the treasure’s insides just like you would with a pinata.
Baldur’s Gate 3 treasure chests appear to be made by ACME Corporation. This method really works with any chest you come across. You can even send those treasure chests back to your camp if they are too heavy for you to carry. Then, go ahead and visit your camp to pick them up and throw them off the most iconic cliffs in the Forgotten Realms.
