Whenever you start a D&D campaign, the opening areas are usually some of the most barebones. As most people are still getting their bearings, along with learning new skills and figuring out where to start. The same can be said for Baldur’s Gate 3, as the game doesn’t really give you much to go off of in terms of progression. Leaving many of the problem solving and thinking up to the players a-la a true tabletop experience. And when tasked with traveling to the Whispering Depths, gamers have been running into difficulties. All is not lost, as there are multiple ways of reaching this location, with one of them being quite simple if you know where to look. We’re going to start our journey and figure out how to move bookcase in Blighted Village Cellar in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Move Bookcase in Blighted Village Cellar in Baldur’s Gate 3
After you have reached the Blighted Village, players are going to want to keep an eye out for a two-story house made out of stone with wooden doors. In this house towards the back of it lies a door on the floor people can enter in. Go through there and you’ll now be in the Blighted Village Cellar. Towards the back right of the room you should see a large wooden bookcase. The way to the depths is through here, but even with 100 strength, you wouldn’t be able to move it.

The immovable bookcase can only be moved by flipping a switch somewhere in the cellar. Now you could decide to wreck the place finding the level. Or you could look to the left of the bookcase, move the boxes there, and you will have found the lever. Flip it, and the furniture will slide open, allowing you and your party to safely enter the Whispering Depths. Just make sure you’re not afraid of spiders before entering this cave.
