How to Manage Inventory in Disney Dreamlight Valley

When you first begin playing Disney Dreamlight Valley, you will have 21 spaces in your inventory and 8 in your home storage chest. This means that you will have 29 spaces in total to store various items. Even though you can always take the items you find back to your home and store them there, thus opening up more space in your personal inventory. You won’t get very far with 29 total storage spaces.

So, how to manage your inventory is going to become one of the most pivotal aspects of Disney Dreamlight Valley. One thing you can do is limit how many miscellaneous items you have at once, such as clothing bags, soil, stone, and coal ore. Since these each serve a limited purpose and can be easily replaced at any point in the game.

However, even still it can become difficult to manage inventory with just 29 storage slots. Instead, what you should look to do is upgrade your storage and increase the capacity. Here are 3 ways you can do that;

  1. Purchase a 28-Slot Backpack – One of the best things you can do to avoid this dilemma is to purchase a 28-Slot Backpack for 5,000 Star Coins. This can be done by going to your Inventory slot in the menu and purchasing the upgrade from there.
  2. Talk to Scrooge McDuck – Outside of your personal inventory, you can also upgrade your home storage capacity by talking to Scrooge McDuck. He will be out front of the bank/shop near the plaza and will have many quests for you to complete. After you complete some of these quests, he will request that you build up the valley’s economy by selling a bunch of gems at Goofy’s Stall. Afterward, he will request that you use the elevator in your home to upgrade the size. For 2,000 Star Coins, you can upgrade your house and increase your storage space to a maximum of 48 spaces.
  3. Craft storage chests – Aside from upgrading your house to increase storage capacity, you can also craft additional storage chests that can be placed inside of your home. Each chest requires 25 Softwood and 25 Stone, both of which can be found foraging. Although, you can only start making chests after you’ve unlocked the crafting bench through the main quests.

Since two out of these three methods require Star Coins, you’re probably wondering the best way to obtain this special form of currency. In Disney Dreamlight Valley, the fastest way to acquire Star Coins is by selling unwanted resources at Goofy’s Stall and getting rid of Night Thorns around the Valley.
