What all these games have in common is that they are a really good simulation of medieval melee battles and all are pretty difficult to master. When you join the multiplayer servers for the first time, high-level players will likely kill you many times before you learn a couple of moves. But, don’t worry. You can level up fairly quickly by using a couple of tips and tricks and get up to speed. Read on to find out how you can level up fast in Mordhau.

How to Get Quick XP in Mordhau?

There are a few solutions to how you can farm XP pretty rapidly in Mordhau, but none of these solutions are simple. You will have to grind and try in order to get the most XP out of them. Here’s our list of the best things to do to level up quickly.

Play Horde Mode

Horde Mode can get you a nice amount of XP and gold at the same time. All you have to do is survive the waves of enemies that are thrown at you. Well, it’s actually more difficult than that.

First, try and pick maps that have towers with ladders and choose a basic weapon at the beginning. Now, try to lure the horde guys to you to keep them close to you, avoid their attacks and slash them up 1 by 1. By doing this with the basic weapon and not upgrading you should get to 150 gold fairly quickly.

Once you have 150 gold, purchase yourself a crossbow and climb on one of the towers. As far as we noticed, the AI-controlled horde bots don’t know how to climb so they will be sitting ducks for you to kill. Crossbow is superior to bow in this situation since it has greater damage and the loading time doesn’t really matter when the enemies can’t get to you.

Play as Cavalry

Jumping up on the horse in the team deathmatch experience is a high-risk high-reward situation. Just like when you are playing a sniper in FPS games, you get that one chance of lining up a perfect shot that will instantly give you a kill, but if you miss you are dangerously open to the enemy attacks.

A skilled cavalry player can rack up a lot of kills in a short period of time making him the perfect XP-grinding machine. However, you need to play it safe in order to do that.

When you’re cavalry don’t try to be too greedy and grab every kill. Since you will be moving really quickly you will see and pass many enemies that look like free kills but they’re not. Many on-foot fighters can take you down (especially spearmen) so you need to pick your targets carefully. Speed is your advantage so ride behind the enemies and look for the ideal target. The easiest ones to kill would be the ones that are either already engaged in combat with one of your teammates or the ones that don’t see you coming.

Make sure you practice your weapon swing time when on a horse too because you need to have an excellent feeling of when to strike to get that huge damage onto the enemy and kill him instantly.

Play Duels

Duels are the fastest way to earn XP (and gold as well) but are the hardest to play. You get to fight other guys in a 1v1 matchup that will test your skills and probably frustrate you a bit since there are a lot of great swordsmen out there.

In addition to fights giving a decent amount of XP, the matches are quick so you can play a number of them and rack up the experience you get in an hour significantly. What’s even better is that even if you lose on Duel servers you will get a decent amount of gold.

We advise this mode for players that already have some experience. If you are a new player and just starting out in Mordhau, try playing Horde Mode until you perfect some skills and learn the combat basics.
