Poor Neville Longbottom. He was the hero all along, and yet he has been the subject of teasing and jokes throughout the Harry Potter saga. Oh, but when they need to kill Nagini to get rid of Voldemort, then yes, let us use Neville, he will surely save us. And yet, he did, with the Gryffindor sword nonetheless. But of course, nobody remembers this, they just remember the chubby kid being petrified by Hermione. Well, at least he single-handedly made Gryffindor the House Cup recipient. Single-handedly I said. Here is how to learn Petrificus Totalus in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Learn Petrificus Totalus
You will learn the famous Petrificus Totalus during the Secrets of the Restricted Section quest during the game. It will take place just after your first visit to Hogsmeade. As you know, this curse, also known as the Full Body-Bind Curse or the Body Freezing Spell, will temporarily paralyze the opponent. Brutal, huh? Now imagine it being used to get rid of unsuspecting subjects that are only doing their jobs to protect a certain prohibited area. Yes, that is exactly what we will do once we learn to use it. A sort of like a stealth takedown. You will have to meet Sebastian in the Library, he will be the one to teach you how to use it and, well, petrify all the innocent guards.
This is basically the way you will use this curse in the game, sneaking on enemies, creatures, and other wizards to incapacitate them. Smaller enemies and low-level wizards will be completely taken out by this curse. Use it in conjunction with the Disillusionment Spell to sneak up to enemies while being invisible. Get nearby and a prompt will appear in order for you to cast Petrificus Totalus on the enemy.

And that’s the way you will be able to petrify everything you see in the game. Well, not everything, but you get what I’m saying. This will greatly benefit your stealth abilities by clearing some rooms of lower tier enemies. Be wary and silent, and you will be able to curse your way to victory. Spell-wise at least. Good luck!
