How to Download Mods from NexusMods

To start, you’ll need to create an account at NexusMods. It would seem that most — if not all — mods for this game are stored on that site. There’s a free option as well as a paid one. But, it would seem that the free version is more than sufficient for these purposes. Assuming you’re using Steam, the next step would be to check your game’s version number. It will be in the name of the game, in brackets. Take note of this number, as you’ll need it when you start downloading mods.

On NexusMods, find the dedicated page for Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord. Find a mod you’re interested in installing, then navigate to the FILES menu. It’s the second tab, in-between DESCRIPTION and IMAGES. In this menu, verify that the mod download version number matches the number in brackets! Download the mod files, then get ready to install them!

How to Install Mods

As soon as the mod files have finished downloading, it’s time to install them! It can be overwhelming, but don’t fret! It’s much easier than it looks. In File Explorer, you’re going to navigate to your Program Files (x86) folder, then to Steam -> SteamApps –> Common –> Mount & Blade II Bannerlord –> Modules. In a separate window, open the location of your — extracted! — mod files, and drag and drop them into the Modules folder. And, with that, we’re almost finished!

In this menu, you’ll see all of the mods you’ve installed. All you have to do now is enable the ones you want by clicking the box to the left of each mod. If you experience game crashes, there’s a chance multiple mods are conflicting, so be cognizant of that possibility when experimenting with several mods at once!
