How to Increase FPS in Gotham Knights

Increase your movement with this guide.

Gotham Knights promises to fulfill everyone’s favorite fantasy of playing as Robin. Wait…that doesn’t seem quite right. Rather than star as the Dark Knight himself, Gotham Knights casts players as Batman’s supporting cast trying to fill the void after Bruce Wayne’s untimely departure. Of course, this being Gotham City crime never rests and neither do Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Batgirl.

Like our four sidekicks turned superheroes, Gotham Knights is living in the shadow of what came before. The Arkham series, for many, is the pinnacle of superhero games, so any follow-up was going to be hotly contested. So far the game hasn’t put its best foot forward. Reviews have been mixed with criticism focused on one key area – frame rates per second. So that being said, here’s how you can potentially increase your FPS in Gotham Knights and be that street vigilante of your dreams.

On Consoles

Unfortunately, if you’re playing on consoles, then you will have to stop here. Sorry to waste your time, but Gotham Knights is locked on consoles at 30 FPS. In a move that many have criticized, the game does not support 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox.

A Warner Bros rep explained on Discord, “Due to the types of features we have in our game, like providing a fully untethered co-op experience in our highly detailed open-world, it’s not as straightforward as lowering the resolution and getting a higher FPS.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. We’ll keep you updated if this ever changes.

Minimum Specs for PC

Fortunately for those playing on PC, you have more room to customize if you have the right specs that is. To run the game at 1080p and 60 FPS, you need at least one of the following for your setup:

  • Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X.
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

Are you back from Best Buy? Good, well now we can proceed with the right settings to increase your FPS in Gotham Knights. You want to make sure that you have both VSync and HDR turned off. Both can mess with your frame rate. Crank up your FPS to 60 and also turn off Upscaling and Dynamic Resolution as well.

These will help make the game (hopefully) run like smooth butter. Now get to work maxing out your character.
