It may seem like superheroes are seemingly invincible when portrayed in comic books. In contrast, the Marvel heroes in Midnight Suns are sadly not invincible. They take damage and if enough damage is done, they will be incapacitated. That’s why it’s always safe to top up your character’s health when you need to by healing them. Firaxis Games has been tasked with making you feel like a superhero while still creating a tactical RPG with obstacles. Let’s have a club meeting and figure out how to heal your heroes in Midnight Suns.
How to Heal Your Heroes in Midnight Suns
When you’re going on any of the missions available to you in Midnight Suns, there are going to be enemies there who want to take down the heroes. Taking damage is part of the game, and even is necessary to activate the abilities of certain characters like a counter-attack. There are abilities that grant skills like life-steal, which allows the eligible character to heal as they do damage.
In order to heal heroes who don’t possess an ability like life-steal, you’ll need to draw a card like Hunter’s heal. Nico Minoru also has a few abilities to heal allies, but the majority of them belong to the Hunter. When you select these cards the game will then give you the option to select which hero you want to heal. Consequently, you will also see how much health will be added back to their health bar above their heads. These could be as simple as granting the hero extra health with no strings attached. Cards such as the Hunter’s Dark Heal will restore an ally to full health, at the cost of dealing damage to themselves. Suffice it to say, healing your heroes in Midnight Suns requires a bit more thought and preparation than in most games.

The developers have really thought about every system in the game and how to further develop them. It seems as if they find a way to tread this very thin line of complexity and finesse with their mechanics. Making sure that the player doesn’t ever feel out of control, but can’t simply put one hand on the wheel and drive. So you better buckle up, because Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a crazy ride.
