In Slime Rancher 2, there is a lot to get cracking on with. Thankfully, the wonders of Slime Science makes your life easier than ever. That it, however, only possible if you can bring all the resources to the Refinery to get processed for the Fabricator to craft said items. And there is only one way to get Slime Science resources. That’s right, by doing it yourself. Here is how to harvest resource nodes and collect Slime Science resources in Slime Rancher 2.
What are Slime Science Resources?
Slime Science resources are vital for advanced items in the fabricator, alongside plorts. They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and rarities, and you’ll have to find them and deposit them into your refinery or, more conveniently, into the refinery links. There is no other use for them aside than for Slime Science.
How to harvest resource nodes
Naturally, you’ll have to use your vacpac to suck up the resource nodes when you come across them, but you can’t do it with your vacpac how it is. Ironically, you’ll have to research a Slime Science upgrade for your vacpac.
Go down into the Fabricator underneath the Conservatory and click on the first item in the list. The Resource Harvester. You’ll only need some Newbucks and 10 cotton plorts, which can be found in abundance rolling on the floors of the Rainbow Fields.
Once you have all ten cotton plorts, shoot them into the refinery and, as long as you have enough Newbucks, you can fabricate the upgrade. It will consume the resources and will be applied to your vacpac instantly.
Now you can go out and find resource nodes. All resource nodes look different, but they share enough qualities to stick out.
The gems, ores and stones will all jut out of surfaces with the material on show.
The liquids will all be spouting from the ground as if a burst pipe is releasing them.

All you need to do is keep sucking with the vacpac until either the rock breaks and releases the resources, or the liquid spout is depleted. You may find Slime Science resources through breaking open pots.
