How to Get W-870 Shotgun in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Get it fast, get it early and blow those heads wide open

There are many Weapons to find in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, some harder than others. But of these Weapons, the W-870 Shotgun is one of the best Weapons you can get in the game. Not only this but it can also be picked up incredibly early in the game. The Shotgun should be used predominately against the Bosses you will meet throughout your time in Valdelobos. It can be a life saver in a moment of being completely surrounded by hoards of enemies, or as a fast-track means of annihilating those deranged Las Plagas followers. For those who want to know where to get the W-870 Shotgun in Resident Evil 4 Remake, this guide will show you its location.

Where to Find the W-870 Shotgun in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The W-870 Shotgun can be found in the same spot as the original Resident Evil 4 game. This is within the confinements of the Village. When you first enter the Village you are greeted a warming sight of the Officer you were tracking being burned alive at the stake. If that is not the best welcome home gift, I am not sure what is. This is the moment in Resident Evil used as the initiation of the game’s combat. It is a telling moment of what is to come in your journey through the horrifying events in Valdelobos in an attempt to save Ashley Graham.

You have two options to take when obtaining the W-870 Shotgun. These are: after the Ganados notices your presence and you try to evade their grasps by entering what is called the Shotgun House or by successfully taking out 15 Ganados whilst fighting off the Chainsaw Villager. The location of the W-870 Shotgun is the same, it is located in the House to the left of the Bell Tower and after the fire effigy of the Officer in the centre of the Village.

How to Get the W-870 Shotgun

If you enter the Shotgun House during the Ganado fight in the Village, you will initiate a cutscene in which the Chainsaw Villager will spawn in. You have approximately 10 seconds to head upstairs and grab the Shotgun off the mantle in the wall directly in front of the staircase. After that point, the Chainsaw Villager will be inside the House with you after destroying the front door. The House will become surrounded by ladders that appear out of nowhere by these resourceful, quick-thinking Ganado members.

Alternatively, after the Ganados leave the Village grounds to enter the Bell Tower after your fight sequence, either through surviving or killing 15 enemies, you can enter the Shotgun House with ease knowing that no one will be on your tail. The Shotgun once again can be found on the upper floor, just atop the staircase. Its ammo comes quite sparingly so keep that in mind when playing Resident Evil 4 Remake. You should use Gun Powder to make more Shotgun Bullets as Handgun Bullets are the most common ammo drop in the game.
