How to Get Traded in NBA 2K23

Despite having more control over how to begin your NBA journey, as you can choose from any one of the 32 NBA franchises. It’s not uncommon to grow unsettled with your current situation over time and feel the need to request a trade.

To request a trade in NBA 2K23 MyCareer, you will need to;

  1. Head into your MyCareer from the main menu.
  2. Scroll through the different options until you find “Request a Trade” and click on it.
  3. After three 2K days (5 real-life minutes), you will receive a notification to get traded.
  4. Select the team and position you’d like to get traded to.

Requesting a trade from management is the easiest way to get traded off your current team. However, keep in mind that you will have limited control over the situation you end up in, and could even get traded to a worse team. If you put in a request to get traded to a good team, then you might have to work harder to get minutes.

Alternatively, you can also get traded in NBA 2K23 MyCareer by forcing it upon the franchise you’re currently playing for. This means that you will have to prove that you need to be traded, and show this through your performance in the game. This can generally be done by playing poorly for an extended period of time. If you continue to play badly, then your team will eventually want to get rid of you.

The only issue with the second method is that you will have no say as to where you get traded, unlike if you were to request a trade. Although, if you play exceptionally well against the teams you want to play for, then there’s a greater chance that they will look to add you to their team if you get placed on the trade block. It also helps if you play a position that isn’t currently covered with the team you’re hoping to play for.
