The Historian is an interesting figure in Smalland for many reasons, and even though many know the general area where he is, getting to his exact location has confused many.
On top of the fact that Historian is, in a way, hidden, the entire Chapel that is keeping him out of sight is filled with nasty enemies that you’d rather avoid. Luckily for you, we’ve investigated how to reach him quickly and with minimal risk!

Quick Path to the Historian in Smalland
The Historian is located in the Crypt, below the Chapel in the southeastern part of the map, just above the King Stag Beetle’s lair. The easiest way to get to him is via Catapult, which is located near the Great Tree, northeast of the Spider Matriarch.
When you get on top of the tree and find a Catapult, shoot yourself over to the Chapel. Keep in mind that you’re going to need to have wings to glide down to the Chapel safely. If you don’t have wings, follow up with our guide on how to do it.
You’ll want to glide to the back of the Chapel through the roof. Look for a pile of rocks that have a staircase path leading to the Crypt. Jump in, gliding on your wings again, exploring the pathways before you. When you reach a crossroads of sorts, you just need to fly forward, and you’ll find the big platform where Teodrik the Historian is located.
You should be able to avoid any enemies by using this path and have no reason to use your resistance or healing items. Depending on when you visit him, the Historian can help you with main quests, give you a Hornet treat recipe, and craft Pyrite Armor for you.
