In order to get the Pickaxe in Hello Kitty Island Adventure you need to reach level 11 friendship with My Melody and unlock the Revive the Oasis / Clearing the Oasis quest. Once you complete that quest you will get the pickaxe.
You can quickly befriend My Melody by giving her various gifts. However, keep in mind that there’s a limit on how many gifts you can give her per day so you need to keep coming back and shower her with new ones every day if you want to unlock the new quest as soon as possible.
Some players reported that they have used their device settings to change the date forward and get the ability to give her more gifts quicker. But, the developers warned that doing this can interfere with some other aspects of the game and lock you out of certain future events.
Getting the Pickaxe in Hello Kitty Island Adventure will be a slow-paced process so be ready for a long run instead of a sprint. Once you unlock it, one of the things you will be able to get is the Pirate Outfit that is hiding behind a rock on the backside of recycling plant.
