Some Animal Crossing fans were not expecting golden weapons to be in New Horizons, but they are. This guide will cover how to get the golden axe and cover how we might be able to get some of the other golden weapons as well.
How to Get The Golden Axe
To get the golden axe, you will have to break one-hundred axes. This may sound a little easier than it actually is. Once you start trying to do it, you’ll realize it will take quite a bit of time to complete.
However, we do have some tips for you to complete this quickly and efficiently. If you don’t want to go out of your way to complete this, you will unlock it eventually just through playing the game regularly from doing things like gathering wood.
You will want to stock up on as many Flimsy Axes as you can get your hands on. These are the cheapest and easiest to break axes in the game and will break somewhere around 40 hits.
Check your Miles Achievements page in-game to see how many trashes tools you have. In there you will be able to see how many axes you’ve already broken.
To get flimsy axes, you can either use your spare wood and branches to craft them or go to Nook’s Cranny and buy them for 800 bells each. This means it would take roughly 80,000 bells to complete this challenge if you buy all of the Flimsy Axes.
Next, find a tree close to the shop so you can run back and forth as quickly as possible. Start chopping the tree and breaking your axe. Again, somewhere around 40 hits will break your Flimsy Axe. Swap to your next Flimsy Axe, and rinse and repeat.
You’ll then unlock the Golden Axe DIY recipe. Head on over to your crafting bench and craft it up using a Regular Axe and a Gold Nugget.
There are other golden weapons and tools in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, such as the Golden Fishing Rod, Golden Bug Nut, Golden Watering Can, Golden Shovel, and Golden Slingshot.
