How to Get the Gas Mask in Dysmantle

There is nothing quite like getting some fresh air outside of the boring safety of that underground bunker. Go fishing, hunt some deer, grow some crops, see the sun set. Go out there and do what most of civilization is not doing at the moment. Live. Surrounded by rotten abominations, welcome to the end of the world. But why change your normal routine? Do everything you want to do but make sure you endure and survive. At this point, you will be very much into your adventure that you have approached an area which requires the Gas Mask. This is our guide to obtaining the Gas Mask in the survival game, Dysmantle.

How to Obtain the Dysmantle Gas Mask

The Dysmantle Gas Mask is needed to get into new areas, such as the Central Area. This is filled with toxic gas, bound to turn you into one of those vile creatures which roam the streets of Dysmantle. Players need to uncover the truth behind what happened to the Archaeologist, Judith Abigail. These are the steps to completing The First Expedition mission and finding the Gas Mask.

• Firstly, you need to go to the Pinnacle and the Abyss Tomb. Coordinates are 964°, 727°. You can get to this area via Sunburnt Desert, at the southern-side of the area. Coordinates of 662°, 781°.
• From these coordinates in the Desert, head east, this will take you towards the Tomb. You need to exit the Desert and enter the forest biome. From the Desert, head to the Fool’s Canyon, north of the Desert border. The coordinates are 902°, 756°.
• The Audio Logs of Judith Abigail will lead you to the Serpent’s Crossing Area. There are a total of 9 Audio Logs to find if you wish to uncover the truth. The Audio Logs can be found at the coordinates listed in the next step. Follows these in order and they will take you to the destination you need to be at to find the Gas Mask.
• 1. 896°, 748°. 2. 931°, 746°. 3. 956°,751°. 4. 946°, 820°. 5. 1019°, 864°. 6. 1093°, 844°. 7. 1181°, 858°. 8. 1276°, 865°. 9. 1305°, 852°.
• The Audio Logs take you to the southern side of the Volcano Mouth Temple. Here you will find the seventh Audio Log at the Beachhead Station but no Dysmantle Gas Mask. Follow the Rocky Mountain Path until you find the eighth and ninth Logs from Judith.
• Enter the Volcano Mouth Temple at coordinates 1225°, 829°.

• Be aware that there are enemies here and the area is filled with narrow winding Temple corridors. So play strategically here. There are campfires dotted around the Temple that you can rest at.
• Upon entering the Temple’s core, a pressure plate will close the door behind you. From here you will want to take the path to the left. Follow this path round until you see two doorways. Enter the one on the left and pull the lever beside the staircase.
• Go back and now go through into the doorway on the right. Pull the lever in this room and walk through into the next room. Here you can lit a campfire and store away items in your inventory.
• Go down the stairs, continuing along the path and use the third lever, located at the bottom of the stairs to the left. There is an enemy to your right, at the top of another staircase. Ignore him.
• Walk through into the large area where a cutscene will start. This is the Old Loyal Champion.
• After defeating the Champion, go to the right of his spawn spot. You want to stay on the edge of the Temple border. Start heading south, follow this path around where you will find two chests and a lever to pull. There are no enemies in this area of the Temple.
• Pull the lever to open an exit door in front of you.
• Follow the path until you reach the final Audio Log, finishing the Expedition mission.
• There is a blue crate to the right of the Log, open it to find the Dysmantle Gas Mask inside.

That is how to obtain the Dysmantle Gas Mask. Now you can return to the Central Area pathway and enter it with ease with the Gas Mask’s protection.
