How to get Tauros Hair in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Catching Tarous by a hair

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have introduced a lot of new features and creative concepts this Generation. One of the more intriguing ones is the TM creator. While you can still find TMs all over the region in random places, you can also create them at every Pokemon Center with the green TM Maker machine. To do so, however, you’ll need TM materials, which come in the form of dropped items from various Pokemon. Each material is needed for different TMs. Tauros Hair is one of those such materials and is for a couple of very powerful TMs. Here’s how to get Tauros Hair in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to obtain Tauros Hair

To get Tauros Hair is actually quite simple, you just have to defeat or capture wild Tauros. The real effort is finding them. It is to note, while there are 3 different Paldean variants of Tauros in Scarlet and Violet, the hair comes from all of them equally. No specific Tauros hunting needed to obtain the hair.

So whether you want to get hair from the regular Fighting-Type Paldean Tauros, which is the easiest one to find, or from the Fire or Water-Type variants, it’s all the same. The location is what you’ll need to know the most. The common Tauros can be found in East Province Area Two and West Province Area Two.

Also to note, The Water-Type Tauros is available only in Violet and the Fire-Type only in Scarlet.

TMs using Tauros Hair

Tauros Hair is a material for only two TMs but they are some of the most powerful TM attacks in the game. Tauros Hair is for TM152 Giga Impact and TM163 Hyper Beam. There are several more and varied materials involved in making them both and they cost a lot of League Points (LP). Both TMs cost 14,000 LP to be exact. Chances are you’ll be storing your Tauros Hair for a while before getting a chance to make those TMs.
