It is worth mentioning that entries into the Piklopedia won’t work retroactively once you obtain it. And for those who enjoy finishing all entries in a field guide, you’ll want to make sure you grab it as soon as possible. In order to unlock the Piklopedia, you must rescue Dalmo, a castaway you can find on Day 4 Exploration. Once you have done so an completed the day, you’ll receive the field guide, allowing you to document all the creatures you come into contact with.

There are certain requirements for a few entries into the Piklopedia. Requirements such as Pikmin entering the squad, or harvesting a certain amount of berries from Spiderworts to name a few. But for the most part, encountering enemies and other creatures might be all you need to earn an entry into the guide. This, combined with a majority of players citing the game being fairly easy, should make this an easy task for those completionists out there.
