In order to unlock the Piklopedia, you must rescue Dalmo, a castaway you can find on Day 4 Exploration. Once you have done so an completed the day, you’ll receive the field guide, allowing you to document all the creatures you come into contact with.

There are certain requirements for a few entries into the Piklopedia. Requirements such as Pikmin entering the squad, or harvesting a certain amount of berries from Spiderworts to name a few.
