How to Get Pickles in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

I asked for MORE pickles.

I love, love, love pickles. I love them on sandwiches, I love them in salads, and honestly, I could polish off an entire jar of the things on their own with little difficulty. They’re tart, they’re crunchy, and they stimulate the appetite, and no proper sandwich is complete without them either in this world or the world of Pokemon. Here’s how to get pickles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Get Pickles in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pickles are one of the numerous ingredients you can obtain in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for assembling sandwiches and gaining stat and percentage-boosting Meal Powers at a picnic. Pickles in particular have a medium-level sour rating, as well as mild hints of sweet and bitter. Pickle-based sandwiches typically boost your encounter and catch rates and are favored by Fighting-type Pokemon, though they slightly lower the rewards you get from Tera Raids.

What Recipes Use Pickles?

The following sandwich recipes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet use pickles as an ingredient:

  • Pickle (Great/Ultra/Master) Sandwich
  • Ultra and Master Refreshing Sandwich
  • Ham (Great/Ultra/Master) Sandwich

Besides the established recipes, you can also use pickles on your own in free creation mode. Given their boosts to encounter and catch rates and penalty to Tera Raid rewards, pickle sandwiches are preferable for regular Pokemon hunting out in the wild rather than farming rewards or rare Tera Types from Raids.

Of course, Meal Powers or not, you can’t stop me from putting pickles on my sandwich. Go ahead, try, I dare you. It won’t work.
