How to Get Night Vision Goggles in Sons of the Forest
Having night vision would be amazing in a game like Sons of the Forest, which is why so many people were disappointed when night vision goggles weren’t in the game when it was first released. These goggles were teased along with many other items in the game’s many trailers, but haven’t been present in the game until very recently!
In the third major patch of Sons of the Forest on April 6th, 2023, night vision goggles were finally added to the game! These goggles will not only aid players at night, but also in other dark places such as caves or tunnels. Getting snuck up on by enemies in the dark is finally a thing of the past!
Unfortunately, not much is known about the goggles or their whereabouts at this time. Not many people have had much luck in finding them yet, but we do know this: the goggles will be located inside of a cave, and they will be on a skeleton. You’ll need to take them off the skeleton and add them to your inventory in order to obtain them. Are Night Vision Goggles Craftable?
Unfortunately, the night vision goggles in Sons of the Forest are not craftable. The only way to get these goggles is by going out and looking for them. These goggles are similar to items such as the GPS Locators in the sense that they’ll need to be hunted down specifically in order to be obtained.
There is a set number of night vision goggles that will be available to players on the island and they won’t respawn, so make sure you don’t lose your pair when you finally find them!

What Do the Night Vision Goggles in Sons of the Forest Do?
The night vision goggles in Sons of the Forest provide players with a source of night vision, meaning you’ll be able to see in the dark with them on.
Being able to see clearly in the dark should prove to be immensely useful to players who like hunting at night, or exploring in dark caves! It’s unclear whether these goggles will be useful underwater or while swimming yet, but it’s very likely that they will.
The night vision goggles in Sons of the Forest will be equippable and unequippable, so you’ll be able to take them on and off whenever you want. They won’t provide you with any additional armor when on, but night vision is a pretty fair trade for a little less protection!
