In any Collectible Card Game (CCG) a players goal may be to try and obtain the rarest and most sought after cards. And for fans of the Wizarding World, this might be your goal with Harry Potter Magic Awakened. The new mobile game on the block is looking to make a big name for itself in a landscape where other titles such as Marvel Snap and Clash Royale are already dominating. As with most other digital card games, Magic Awakened utilizes a rarity system in order to differentiate its spells, summons, and charms. A system that makes the rarer cards the most difficult to get. So let’s strap on our Quidditch helmet and figure out how to get legendary cards in Harry Potter Magic Awakened.
How to Get Legendary Cards in Harry Potter Magic Awakened
Each card belongs in one specific category of rarity. In order from lowest to highest it goes: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic/Dark Cards. We’ll be focusing on legendary cards, since these are going to be the bulk of sought after cards, right before the big behemoths. There are thankfully a multitude of ways for players to get legendary cards, but not all of them will be free.

Some of the available options might require you to dole out some real world money, but there are a few choices here that’ll just require you to play the game. However, as it is with any gacha game, there is always a way to spend as much money as the developers want you to.
Magical Studies
For players who want to spend little time as well as little money on the game but still have a chance at earning those sweet legendaries, the gacha system Magical Studies is for you. The base method of obtaining new cards in the game, players can spend keys in order to “perform studies.” With different options depending on they keys you have, and the cards they contain. If you’re wanting to grab some legendaries, you’ll need to draw from either the Advanced Study with Golden Keys, or on the Season limited draw with Ruby Keys.
Golden Keys can be gotten by completing daily tasks, going to forbidden forest, participating in the dueling club, or via the shop with real money. Ruby Keys on the other hand, can only be obtained by purchasing them, or by completing the beginning of the main missions, otherwise known as Yearbook Stories.
Curious Card Packs
Next up on our list of legendary inquiries is the Curious Card Packs. An item available in the shop for players to purchase, not with money, but with 40 Thank-You Notes. A currency you can only obtain when your character assists someone in a Team Exploration. They can be purchased under the Thank-You Note Exchange, and gives you greater odds at snagging a legendary card.
Library Pass
Another in-game way of earning more cards legendary or not, lies within an item every kid wants: a library pass. Except in this game, Library Passes allow you to further study magic, therefore drawing new cards. This form of currency can be acquired by completing certain missions, dueling, or by progressing through the seasonal passes. Players can trade in 1 Library Pass and draw 5 cards in return, with a rarity from common, all the way to legendary.
House Chest
Since you are a student at Hogwarts staying in the dorms, it’s only right that you get your very own house chest as well. The House Chest is yet another way for players to draw new cards by completing activities inside of the game. This could range from dueling, to going to class, to even dancing, all of these will earn you points towards your chest. And once you have enough points, players will be able to open a box, that will provide them with a number of cards. Sadly, not every chest gives players the chance of a legendary, but once you have progressed enough in the game, players will start to earn golden house chests. These will be your chance at getting one step closer to obtaining more legendary cards.
Yearbook Stories (Main Missions)
This option should be pretty self-explanatory, as some main missions in Magic Awakened will earn you free legendary cards just by playing the game. They won’t be a common mission reward however, being saved only for key story missions, to show the player just how much they’ve accomplished. This is why we recommend trying to blast your way through the Yearbook stories as soon as possible. So that you might have even better chances when going up against fellow duelists in PvP.
PvP (Dueling)
The main portion of PvP in this game lies within the dueling club. A system where players can take their deck of cards and face off against people from around the world. You can choose to partner up with someone else and take on people in a 2v2 mode, or go at it alone and face off mano a mano with your fellow Witches or Wizards. As you earn more points or Duel Score within battles, these will accumulate, allowing players to collect rewards such as legendary cards for their milestones.
Seasonal Passes
And last but not least is everyone’s favorite type of free-to-play system, seasonal passes. And yes, in Harry Potter Magic Awakened that is plural passes, as there are multiple ones the player will unlock at the beginning of the game. Sadly for this option, players will be required to spend money if they want to progress enough to earn these legendary cards. As with both the Magic Pass and Homework seasonal pass, the only place legendary cards are collected, are from the deluxe or premium version of the passes. If you’re looking to buy the premium versions of these passes, chances are you’ve exhausted all of the other pathways to legendary cards.
