Minecraft is the world-wide phenomenon that allows players to mine, build, and explore each vast procedurally generated world. There are many things to do and resources to gather, one such resource being honeycomb. Players may have use for honeycomb but may be struggling on acquiring it for themselves. Honeycomb is a product from, clearly, bees, but how do you harvest this resource? And can you do it safely? Here is how to safely harvest honeycomb in Minecraft.
How to harvest Honeycomb in Minecraft
Out in the Wild
The first means of acquiring honeycomb will be finding it naturally. Honeycomb develops in wild bee nests, so you’ll need to find yourself one. Bee nests spawn under tree leaves in forests, so you may need to do a little exploring. The best way to find them is to find a bee, wait for it to pollinate, and follow it back to its nest.
Pollinated bees eventually produce honey in its nest. Every nest has two holes, if they are dark and empty, then the nest has not produced honey. You must wait for enough pollinated bees to produce honey. You’ll need a pair of shears for this next part.
When the nest has produced honey, you will see the honey trickling from the exits. With the shears, right-click to harvest three honeycombs — but watch out! The bees will now start attacking you, poisoning you on contact. If a bee hits you, it will soon die.
The honeycomb is yours, however there is a safer and more efficient way of harvesting honeycomb.

Farming honeycomb
With your three honeycombs, craft a beehive from a crafting table. The beehive will be able to house bees and will allow them to produce honey. You must place the beehive where you want it and attract bees using flowers. The bees will pollinate flowers and return to your beehive. Honey will fill in the usual fashion.
However, they will still attack you if you attempt to harvest it, so place a campfire under the beehive to ‘calm’ the bees, allowing you free access to their honeycomb.
Make sure to place plenty of flowers!
