How to get a Date Ending in Monster Roadtrip

Still plenty of dates to be won.

In the previous Monster Prom games, the date with one of the eligible bachelors/bachelorettes was the ultimate goal at the end of every run. Monster Roadtrip is more about just having fun on the road and reaching a cool destination, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get some bonus date action in the process. Here’s how to get a Date Ending in Monster Roadtrip.

How to get a Date Ending in Monster Roadtrip

In Monster Roadtrip, Date Endings are kind of like bonus endings you can get on top of your regular destination ending. You can get them with just about anyone that joins your trip crew. Polly and Scott are always available, and you can also score a date with any of the hitchhikers that you pick up at rest stops.

The important element in scoring a date is communication. In order to work toward a Date Ending with any character, you need to have conversations with them at rest stops. If you’re going for Scott or Polly, you can always talk to them at the picnic tables, while hitchhikers can be chatted with by selecting the bus stop. Most of the conversations will be no-stakes dialogue exchanges where you get to learn a little more about them, but after you’ve had a few of these, you’ll then get an important Deep Conversation.

When the Deep Conversation comes up, you’ll actually have to make a choice instead of just sitting and listening. You’ll get three options, with the correct one being based on what the character previously told you about themselves. The number of chances you get at this depends on the difficulty you’re playing on.

  • On Easy mode, you get infinite chances at Deep Conversations
  • On Medium mode, you get one extra chance at a Deep Conversation if you mess up
  • On Hard mode, you only have one chance to get a Deep Conversation right

If you make the right choice, you’re officially on track for a Date Ending, but that’s not the end of it. To actually see the ending, you still need to successfully complete the trip by raising one of your resources high enough to reach a destination. Additionally, if you did poorly enough during the trip to get a Loser Ending, that’ll override the Date Ending. Date Endings, on the other hand, override MVP and Average endings, so as long as you don’t completely blow the entire run, you should be set. If everything’s good, you’ll see the Date Ending CG right after the regular destination ending. Additionally, setting up Date Endings with certain hitchhikers can add additional layers to your destination endings!

While it’s no longer the main crux of the game, the potential for dates is still there in Monster Roadtrip if you want it. And I’m willing to bet that you want it.
