But while interacting with players and indulging in some fun musical moments can be a blast. It’s the exploration that creates a journey. Luckily for players, Sky has a great traversal mechanic that allows them to fly. But it isn’t as easy as it sounds. So, let’s talk about how to fly in Sky: Children of the Light.

How to fly in Sky: Children of Light

When it comes to flying in Sky: Children of the Light, it isn’t as easy as just pressing a button to do so. Well, it is eventually. To fly, you have to fill up your light meter which is located at the top of the screen. Depending on how far you’ve leveled-up flying, you’re given a couple of different slides that can be filled up, acting as how many times you can fly on a single charge. Think of it as battery levels.

To refill it, you simply have to go near light or other characters to gain additional light, thus allow you to fly. You can do the same whilst in the air to maintain doing so. There are two ways of flying in Sky. The first is going to be the standard way which is typically with your main jumping button. Just press and hold the button to begin flying.

You can then press it again to catch speed but it will use up a slide of Light. Once in the air, you can hit your right shoulder button if on controller to begin a more refined form of flying called “flight” which allows you to fly faster and in a more direct path.

To go up, push your thumbstick forwards, and to fly downward, title it down. You can also use that thumbstick to control where to go as well. Your right thumbstick will move your camera.
