How to Fix Warden of Nothing GM Bug in Destiny 2

The worst kind of bug.

Looking for how to fix the Warden of Nothing GM bug in Destiny 2? I feel your pain. There’s nothing worse than getting hit with bugs during Grandmasters, especially ones right at the end that nullify the entire run. I’m here to make sure that never happens to you again – at least for Warden of Nothing.

I’ll be breaking down what the bug is – so you know if you’ve encountered it. After that, I’ll go through the only fix we have as of writing, as well as another, less-impactful bug you may come across during your grinding.

Warden of Nothing GM Bug – Claim Your Reward

At the end of the Warden of Nothing Grandmaster in Destiny 2, you’ll end up fighting the Warden’s Servitor. As far as Grandmaster bosses go – this is one of the easiest in the entire game. This boss, in general, is a pushover regardless of difficulty.

Once you’ve defeated the boss, you’ll be prompted to “claim your reward” in the mission objective. This is where the Warden of Nothing GM bug rears its ugly head.

The chest will spawn as soon as you kill the boss – and some dialogue will start playing. If you open the chest before that dialogue concludes, there’s a chance that the game won’t register you opening the chest – resulting in the “claim your reward” objective not going away. Once the mission fully concludes, your GM then won’t count as completed, and you’ll get no rewards. So, how do you fix it?

The solution to the Warden of Nothing GM bug is pretty simple – just wait for the dialogue to conclude before you open the chest. If you do that, the game will be able to register the action correctly, and the mission will conclude as it’s supposed to.

Unfortunately, this is all you can really do to fix the issue. This particular Warden of Nothing bug has been around for a while – and we can only assume Bungie knows about it. It hasn’t been fixed yet, so this is the only solution you have to work with until it’s either fixed or Warden of Nothing is taken out of the GM rotation.

Warden of Nothing Grandmaster Champion Bug

There is one other bug you may encounter in Warden of Nothing, as well as most other Grandmasters – Champions not spawning. If you progress through a mission too fast, there’s a chance some Champions won’t spawn. In some GMs, this doesn’t matter as the game relocates them or doesn’t count them for your Platinum completion. For others, like Warden of Nothing – it does kill your Platinum run.

There are generally two solutions to Champions not spawning – wipe, or progress through the mission intentionally slow.

We don’t have the option to wipe during Grandmasters, so all we can do is progress through the Strike slowly. In particular, make sure you slow down when moving between load zones. If you know the game is going to have to load up some enemies and environments, give it a second to actually do so.

If you encounter any other bugs beyond the two I’ve talked about – then you’ll want to hit up Bungie Help as you’ve got a freak incident on your hands. For everyone else, hopefully, this helps you in your Conqueror Seal endeavors.

This is hardly the only bug Destiny 2 players are susceptible to. For more bug fixes, guides, news, and more – follow Gamer Journalist on Facebook. If you have an issue, we’ll do what we can to help you solve it.
