How to fix Black Screen on Twitch

Depending on which search engine you’re using could affect how twitch is running for you currently. These steps can work for any browser but depending on which one you use, how you get to the settings can be different. So for the sake of focusing on troubleshooting in any browser, we are going to try to keep these instructions vague but direct.

The first possible method to resolve this, you should go to the tools menu of your browser and clear out your browsing data. Mainly you want to clear your browsing history and cookies data.

A second method would be to check what extensions you are running. There could be an extension you recently downloaded that is blocking twitch from working properly. Ad-blockers can usually be the most common culprit. A new update on Twitch may also make it incompatible with a certain extension. This could cause a lot of trial and error on your end. So be patient.

A third method you can try is to disconnect and reconnect to your internet connection. A bad wi-fi connection can sometimes corrupt your link with a website, especially live streaming ones.

The fourth possible method could be in addition to the 3rd. Your IP address may be having issues, so try releasing your IP address. Press the Windows key + R key to launch the Run application. Type cmd and then click OK. Type ipconfig /release, press Enter and this should effectively restart your IP address and gain access to twitch again. Twitch has been notorious for crashing on IP addresses for no fully given reason in the past decade.

Hopefully one or a combination of several of these methods will help clear the Twitch black screen issue problem for you. If not, then it is likely on Twitch’s end and you might have to wait for the site to get back on its feet or for traffic to clear up.
