  • Restart Overwatch 2
  • Relaunch Battle.net (if on PC)
  • Restart your device

Check Overwatch 2 Server Status

If you’re having difficulties logging into Overwatch 2, the primary potential cause is some manner of server problem. If the servers are either undergoing maintenance or otherwise inundated with players, you might not be able to get in.

To check the status of Overwatch 2’s servers, visit the official Overwatch forums, or use a third-party service like Downdetector. If the servers are down, you’ll just have to check back later.

Restart Stuff

If the servers appear to be in working order, the next order of business is to restart things. Start by fully closing your instance of Overwatch 2. Just close the program if you’re on PC, or end the game session if you’re playing on a console. Afterward, just launch it back up.

If you’re playing on a PC specifically, you can also try refreshing Battle.net. Just log out of the launcher and log back in to refresh your credentials. Remember, you’ll need your smartphone nearby to authenticate.

If those don’t work, try restarting your entire PC/console. A clean boot gets rid of temporary files and helps you launch fresh instances of the required services.

Check Your Internet Connection

If you can’t seem to connect to the Overwatch 2 server, the problem may be on your end, specifically with your internet connection. Try power-cycling your router or switching to a physical connection in lieu of wi-fi. You can also try playing other online games or doing some strenuous internet browsing to get an idea of how widespread the problem is, assuming it’s not an isolated thing. Don’t forget to check your internet provider’s website to see if there are any outages in your service area.

If none of these tricks work, you’ll need to make a formal support request on the Blizzard support website. If you fill out the requested info, including the precise nature of your problem and your device specs, they should get back to you quickly with a solution, or at least a reason for the problem.
