How to Fix Cursor Stuck on Screen Error in Warhammer 40K Darktide

The game is full of pestilence, plagues, and bugs. But not the gross kind, the annoying kind.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide is a hack-and-slash game of obliterating all the disgusting heretical scum in your way. As you serve the God-Emperor of Mankind, you have to squash droves of the insignificant bugs underfoot as you charge. Unfortunately, however, they’re not the only kind of bugs you’ll be experiencing. In the beta of the game, players have been experiencing bugs that ruin the immersion and their experience, the visible cursor being one of them. Can you fix the cursor bug in Warhammer 40K: Darktide?

The cursor bug

The bug in question is a rather immersion-breaking bug. Some players are experiencing seeing their cursor in the middle of their screen. They can still play the game, however, the cursor is usually invisible. There is hardly anything more annoying than seeing your cursor starkly on display when you’re trying to shoot down those scabs.

Many people have reported this issue on Steam, and many have complained about the frustration of having difficulty fixing it. The dev team is aware of the bug, and it is safe to say they are working on it. But, in the meantime, what can you do to fix it?

Possible solutions

To fix this bug, try the following methods:

  • Using alt + tab to cycle through to other windows and apps. Then cycle back to the game.
  • Go into your options and change the type of screen mode between all three (in the ‘video’ settings menu).
  • Closing other open apps on the device.

If none of those are working, which is a frustratingly common outcome, then there is nothing you can do aside from restarting the game.

All we can do is hope that this bug gets squashed by the full release, so you can go back to popping heads without the cursor joining the party.
