Like any good farming sim, Coral Island features fishing. Players can choose to do so for relaxing, achievement hunting, or both. However, depending on when you have started the game, you may be wondering when exactly you are able to do said activity and hobby. Here’s how to obtain a fishing rod and how to go about your first-time fishing in Coral Island.
Where to obtain a fishing rod
Players will be gifted the basic fishing rod from Sunny and Eleanor once clearing two specific tasks – “Starting Out” and “Home Sweet Home”. Upon completing both tasks, players will wake up to new mail from these two characters, requesting the player character visit them at Sunny’s Beach Shack. Do so prompto to pick up your very first fishing rod and get to catching some fishes!
How to fish in Coral Island
Fishing in Coral Island is done differently to how you may be already familiar with or expect. Players are able to cast out into any body of water and as long as it is deep enough, a waiting game will commence until players catch sight of the shadow of a fish. Players will have to slide their mouse down with the left click held when casting and release it upon impact. Click and hold once more when the fish connects to the line. Time the clicking and holding down with the wire tension indicator that will appear on screen to successfully fish. Keep an eye on this indictor to time when to release the mouse to relieve tension and keep the fish calm to capture it.
Upon the capturing of any fish, you can choose to donate it to the Museum or sell it on. Either way, keep at fishing to work on the compiling of an entire book on all obtainable fishes to encounter and catch in your time at Coral Island. Remember to upgrade your basic fishing rod whenever the opportunity arises by saving up and using the right materials to make fishing even easier on your player character and patience levels.
