How to Find the War Beast Keycard in Destiny 2

I’m going over how to find the War Beast Keycard in Destiny 2 Lightfall. This simple little item is one of those pesky quest objectives that can instantly halt your progress. It’s not too clear how you go about retrieving it – which is why I’m here.

I’ll explain how to find the War Beast Keycard in Destiny 2. Be warned – there’s a lot more where this came from.

Destiny 2 – How to Find the War Beast Keycard

The War Beast Keycard is a mission objective needed to progress through First Contact – The first mission in the Lightfall campaign.

While playing through that mission, you’ll eventually reach a locked door with a symbol of a War Beast. If you’ve been around the block in Destiny and played either the old Leviathan raid or the Duality dungeon – then you’ll recognize the symbol.

Rather than looking for a stand to place down, you’ll be defeating a Major to pick up their corresponding keycard.

If you turn around when you reach that door and pull up your Ghost, you’ll see an objective marker leading you off to the left, up a ramp – follow it.

Destiny 2 – Warbeast Keymaster

When you go up the ramp, a bunch of enemies will spawn, along with a Warbeast Keymaster. This Keymaster isn’t too hard to kill – but he can surprise you if you’re playing on Legendary difficulty – so don’t underestimate him.

Either way, kill him and he will drop the keycard. Pick it up, finish up with the rest of the adds, and return to the Warbeast door. You’ll now be able to open the door and progress through the rest of the mission, where more keycards await you.

You will encounter one more War Beast Keycard in this mission – but it’s far easier to get than this one. You’ll kill the Keymaster first, and then be presented with the door, so that shouldn’t pose too much of an issue for you.
