How to Find the Secret Store in River City Girls 2

Seek the yellow star.

River City Girls 2 is absolutely packed with stores, shops, and stands selling snacks, accessories, and sketchy magical reagents. Most of these storefronts are pretty clearly marked, even if they’re not always in sensible locations, but there’s one store that’s been carefully hidden from prying eyes. Here’s how to find the secret store in River City Girls 2.

Hidden within the Downtown district of River City is a special secret store called Merlin’s Mystery. This store only sells two items, both at exorbitant prices, but if you can get your grubby hands on them, you’ll borderline break the game. If you want these game-breaking accessories, though, you have to find the store first.

The store is hidden in the West Tunnel, located one scene to the left of the Downtown Shopping bus stop in the Downtown district. Walk through the tunnel, hugging the northern wall, until you come across a distinctive yellow spray-painted star. If you’ve ever played Scott Pilgrim VS. The World, you know what a star on the wall means. Hold the light attack button in front of that yellow star, and you’ll enter the secret store.

What does the Secret Store Sell?

The secret store sells two accessory items: the Bunny Button and the Tank Button. Both of these items cost $5,000, making them the most expensive things in the entire game. If you equip the Bunny Button by itself, you’ll start moving extremely fast, too fast to easily control. Meanwhile, if you equip the Tank Button by itself, your attack power will be boosted exponentially, but you’ll move at a snail’s pace.

If those don’t sound beneficial, remember that you can equip two accessories at once. If you can equip both of these accessories, you’ll receive the massive attack boost from the Tank, while the Bunny’s speed boost will be lowered to a more manageable, yet still quite fast, boost. For you tokusatsu fans out there (like myself), this is very much a Kamen Rider Build reference. Rabbit and Tank are a Best Match, after all.
