How to Recruit Guilty Gear Characters in River City Girls 2

Let's rock.

The cool thing about games produced by two major companies is that you’re much more likely to see crossover between those companies’ stable of game characters. Case in point, in River City Girls 2, thanks to it being a co-production between Wayforward and Arc System Works, you can meet up with a couple of familiar faces from the Guilty Gear series. Here’s how to recruit Guilty Gear characters in River City Girls 2.

In River City Girls 2, there are a handful of special NPCs that you can hire on as mercenaries. These mercenaries take up one of your two recruit slots, and employ powerful, unique attacks when called in. Most of these mercenaries are references to other River City/Kunio-kun games, but two of them are on loan from the Guilty Gear series: Jam Kuradoberi and Sol Badguy.

As long as you know where to find them and have enough cash to pay their hiring fee, you can have these characters help you out as much as you like. The only catch is that the Guilty Gear characters can’t be hired in an initial playthrough of River City Girls 2. They can only be recruited in a new game plus.

Finding Jam and Sol

Jam can be found in the Uptown district of River City, the same place you fight and unlock Provie. She’s located in Yokocho, right next to Soup n’ Sticks up on the scaffolding. You can hire her for 50 bucks, and when called in, she’ll perform her signature Ryuujin flying kick.

Sol is found in the Ocean Heights district, which you’ll end up in after defeating Blaire in the Flatirons and speaking with the Ferryman. He’s hanging out in Beach Plaza, right in the middle of the grassy picnic area. You can hire him for a hefty 150 bucks, and when called in, he’ll fire off his classic Gunflame attack.

It’s super cool of Wayforward and Arc System Works to bring these characters in for a cameo. And in English, no less! Jam has never even had an English VA.
